A Post Mortem

Back in April, we missed a deadline. It wasn’t due to lack of effort — it was a systems failure I didn’t catch early enough.

I took time to reflect. I analyzed time logs, built a tool using the JIRA API and an LLM to visualize where the project time had gone. Sure enough: infrastructure setup and CI/CD had taken up a sizable chunk of our timeline — and the numbers backed it up in the root-cause analysis.

So when we got more time to deliver, I started with the blockers: cleaned up infra, automated what I could, and flagged any structural risks early. Then, when a familiar delivery-week issue hit again — I escalated. I asked for help. We resolved it.

We went live on [Monday 30th of June, 2025].

It’s rare to see a software deadline miss turn into a success story. But this time, it did — not because I worked harder, but because I led differently.
